Jim McCurry (10-3-43) has a M.A. in creative writing (Colorado State Univ., 1974), and a Ph.D. in literature (U. of Denver, 1985), besides a B.A. (Knox College,1965). He was born to write and yak. He is a Buddhist, of the half-assed school: aspiringly, “Old Dog.” Dr. McCurry has ‘taught’ in English and philosophy at Carl Sandburg College since 1980. His poems can be found at such journals as Fish Drum (NYC), the Colorado Review, Writer’s Forum, Quarterly West, and Farmers Market; also (since 2001) at such on-line zines as kritya (India), Eleven Bulls (NYC), Zuzu’s Petals, Cyber Oasis, Pig Iron Malt, Poetsagainstthe-
war, Alba, nycBigCityLit (NYC), Identity Theory, Snow Monkey, Rio, muse apprentice guild, Tryst3, Zacatecas Review (Mexico), and poems Niederngasse (Switzerland). He has a column at Tryst3 (“Jim’s Corner”. One of his books of poems, Indium, is forthcoming soon from Ravenna Press. (Another book is proposed to issue from Tryst3, but that seems iffy, or indefinite.) |
